The presence of tungsten in the alloy provides it with an excellent resistance to wear and in all those conditions in which the thermal stresses are too much severe for the traditional copper alloys.
Its workability together with its specific weight enables it to be used as weights for balances.

The presence of tungsten carbide improves its hardness and its resistance to wear together with a good workability.

- Electric welding
- Parts of electric lines subject to wear.

They are used above all for their antioxidant capacity. The alloy's silver quantity improves its conductibility but reduces its resistance to electric arc wear.
